餃子，是一種以面為皮(wrapper)的充餡食物，它是中國北方比較傳統(tǒng)的食物，餃子深受中國漢族人民的喜愛。中國人過春節(jié)和其他節(jié)日，餃子是必不可少的。相傳是我國古代名醫(yī)張仲景發(fā)明的。“餃子”得名的原因非常簡單，“餃子”音同“交子”，是新舊交替之意，因?yàn)榇汗?jié)標(biāo)志著新的一年的開始，人們選擇吃餃子來表達(dá)他們對(duì)新年的美好祝愿。盡管時(shí)代變了，但是這一傳統(tǒng)卻保留了下來。

Jiaozi

Jiaozi, or dumpling is a kind of food stuffed withfilling inside a wheat wrapper. As a quitetraditional food in Northern China, it is verypopular among Han Chinese. Jiaozi is absolutelynecessary when the Chinese people celebrate theSpring Festival and other festivals. It is said that jiaozi was invented by China's famous ancientdoctor Zhang Zhongjing. The reason for naming the food as “jiaozi” is very simple: because“jiaozi” is homophonous to the Chinese phrase “change of year”，which means the transitionfrom the old to the new. As the Spring Festival marks the start of a new year, people choose toeat jiaozi to express their best wishes for the New Year. This tradition has remained unbrokendespite the change of times.
